The most expensive failure in chronic disease treatment is the prescribed medication not being taken. The problem is not a lack of information; it is life itself. Between meetings, travel, and fatigue, one dose is skipped, then another — and treatment quietly falls apart. With the global digital health market past 500 billion dollars as of 2025, more than 8 million people with diabetes and more than 15 million with hypertension in Turkey live inside this fragile chain. Hasta Takip, developed by Taiga Teknoloji, was built precisely to protect that chain.
Problem
Medication non-adherence is a structural problem with no single cause. Patients forget their dose times — and most of the time don’t even realize they forgot. Family members can only learn whether an elderly relative in another city is keeping up with treatment by calling to ask, which is both unreliable and wearing for both sides. Health data is scattered across papers, messages, and memory; when the doctor’s appointment comes, no one can clearly lay out the real picture of the past month. The result is predictable: low adherence rates, treatments left unfinished, and clinical decisions made without data.
Solution
Hasta Takip reduces medication management to a single mobile system. Users add an unlimited number of medications and define daily, weekly, or custom-interval reminders. Every dose is recorded as taken or skipped — and from these records the app derives real-time adherence rates, trend analysis, and per-medication performance. Monthly adherence reports download as PDFs and are shared directly with the doctor. Data is stored encrypted and transmitted encrypted; the infrastructure is built to the HIPAA standard.
The product’s real differentiating layer is the family tracking system. A caregiver connects to the patient’s profile with person-specific permissions and receives an automatic notification when a dose is taken or skipped. Even with an elderly parent in Istanbul and their child in Ankara, tracking continues uninterrupted. Most competing apps stop at individual reminders; Hasta Takip differentiates by modeling care as a family matter.
System
The app was developed natively for iOS and Android; it works offline and, with low battery and data consumption, adapts to older users’ device habits. Four modules carry the product’s backbone:
- Medication management: dose, time, notes, photos, and stock tracking
- Reminder system: alarm-style alerts, snoozing, missed-streak detection
- Reporting: monthly adherence reports and doctor sharing
- Family tracking: multiple patient profiles and remote monitoring
The target audience was deliberately kept wide: a care ecosystem reaching from chronic patients and the elderly to professional caregivers and physicians who want to monitor patient adherence. The Turkish interface and the assurance of a local developer strengthen its position in the domestic market against global competitors such as Medisafe and MyTherapy.
Treatment works when medication is taken on time; Hasta Takip builds a system around that simple truth.
